We advised Kin and Carta PLC on cross border acquisition
Our cross-border team has advised Kin and Carta PLC (Kin + Carta), an AIM-listed global digital transformation consultancy, on its proposed acquisition of Bulgarian software development company Melon Group and its subsidiaries, including Melon Technologies and Frakton LLC (collectively ‘Melon Group’).

Kin + Carta strives to build a world that works better for everyone and boasts world-class clients including the UK Government Home Office, Santander, The Economist, US Foods, Hewlett-Packard, and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas City.
Melon Group is a fast-growing software engineering business with a 300-strong team of web, mobile, and data specialists working across Bulgaria, North Macedonia, and Kosovo. Its sector experience includes Medtech, Fintech, Banking, and Human Resources. It is headquartered in Sofia and led by chief executive Krum Hadjigeorgiev.
This pan-European expansion is part of Kin + Carta’s growth in South-Eastern Europe and complements Kin + Carta Greece, as the company looks to build a new European delivery hub.

Our team
We were originally engaged by Kin + Carta to perform buy-side M&A lead advisory, including acquisition target screening of several European countries which resulted in the identification of Melon Group. The joint UK and Bulgarian team continued to work on the transaction delivery lead advisory M&A support, financial and tax diligence services. The core Mazars team was Dave Hilton, Ryan Imison, and Farida Shields from the UK as well as Margarit Arnaudov and Yana Todorova from Bulgaria.
