Mazars appoints Michael Davidson as Audit Partner

Mazars, the international audit, tax, and advisory firm, has appointed Michael Davidson as a Banking Audit Partner in the firm’s Leeds office.

In this newly created role, Michael will be responsible for growing the audit team in the Yorkshire region, which will entail building Mazars’ audit practices across the banking sector. Michael joins the firm from KPMG, where he served as an Audit Director. He is an experienced leader, having worked with audit clients including retail banks, building societies, specialist lenders, the debt purchase industry, as well as other listed financial institutions and securitisation vehicles.

Michael has extensive knowledge of the financial services sector, having delivered a diverse and varied range of engagements through various roles over his 20 years at KPMG. Michael also has a track record of leading a range of non-audit services, including technical accounting advice (e.g. IFRS9) and within the securitisation and structured finance space. In the latter, he has conducted agreed-upon-procedure engagements for banks, building societies and insurance companies in the UK, the Netherlands, France and Germany across a range of asset classes.
