Social and workforce reporting

The 2000s and 2010s were the decades of the rise of environmental reporting, whereas the 2020s promise to be the decade when social reporting begins to take off in a larger way. The beginning of this can be seen in gender pay reporting, the Section 172 reporting requirement on modern slavery and elements of the remuneration report. We expect to see ethnicity based pay reporting, greater pressure from investors to report on supply chain labour practices (in some sectors) and a general increase in the level of disclosure of workforce career progression, retention, training and pay over the next few years.
