Showing social value: a priority for housing associations?

Recent research we’ve conducted in partnership with Social Housing, surveying directors, managers, and officers of housing associations and local authorities, revealed that nearly 80 per cent of those surveyed believe that the sector is not doing enough when it comes to demonstrating social value. 80 per cent also feel that the sector is focusing too much on financial value and not enough on social impact.

The report sets out the findings on:

• The methods used to measure social value
• The importance of social value to the current government
• The reputation of the sector for providing social value

The survey follows a previous report by Mazars – Rethinking Social Value: unlocking resources to improve lives – which highlighted challenges around how social value is defined, delivered, measured and its impact on communities.

We hope you find our research useful and for more information please email us at publicservices@mazars.co.uk.
