The Turing Scheme

The introduction of the UK Government Turing Scheme, in 2021 as the post Brexit replacement for the Erasmus Scheme provides a real value proposition for educational establishments to continue to attract international students from across the world who are interested in education, training and cultural experiences.

It supports global Britain by providing an opportunity for UK organisations like yours from the higher education, further education, vocational education, training, and schools sectors, to offer your students, learners, and pupils life-changing experiences to study or work abroad.

The scheme was launched for the Academic Year 2021/2022 and has an audit requirement for institutions receiving more than £40,000 in support. Given the nature of the scheme being new, this has created the need for educational institutions to outsource this auditing service.

Mazars audit experts currently provides audit services for 15 universities across the UK, eight of which were new to the grant audit service. All of whom have rated our auditing service ‘excellent’ in the feedback we have received.

One testimonial said "We were very happy with the audit process which was quick and efficient. It was great that Mazars were able to schedule our audit at such late notice and we found the team highly professional and flexible in their approach."

How we can help

Grant auditors have to be very flexible in varied auditing requirements. Schemes have different procedures and requirements for testing and report, and we offer that to all of our clients for their grants that require audits. The benefits of this are having audit services in one place as they have a variety of departments where grant funding may be received and often tight deadlines to adhere to for their grant audit reports.
