William Hughes appointed as member of the GRI Textiles & Apparel Working Group

William Hughes, Director of Sustainability consulting services, has been invited to join the Global Reporting Initiative’s (GRI) working group to develop the Sector Standard for the Textiles and Apparel sector.

In the letter of appointment, Carol Adams, Chair of the GRI Global Sustainability Standards Board wrote:

The development of a Sector Standard for Textiles and Apparel presents an exciting opportunity to support and enhance the sustainability reporting of companies and focus reporting on the issues that matter most for the sector.

Before joining Mazars in 2017, William ran his own carbon neutral textile manufacturing company and was instrumental in pioneering GRI Sustainability Reporting for SME’s. William’s appointment is consistent with our commitment to building the foundations of a fair and prosperous world and represents another example of how we are helping to shape non-financial reporting.

William Hughes says,

This gives us a seat at the table to influence and shape the reporting framework for the apparel and textiles sector. It really reflects the quality of our sustainability services and helps to strengthen our consumer credentials.

What is the GRI (Global Reporting Initiative)?
