Mazars promotes next generation of Partners

Mazars, the international tax, audit and advisory firm, has appointed ten new Partners across the UK as of 1 January.

All ten have been promoted from within the business, and four of the new Partners joined Mazars as school leavers or graduates. The new Partners are drawn from Audit, Consulting, Outsourcing, Restructuring Services, Tax and Financial Planning in locations across the UK, serving clients from individuals to privately owned businesses to financial institutions, listed businesses and public sector bodies.

The new partners are:

Lara Brennan

Lara started her career as a school leaver and joined Mazars in 2004. She has developed her career within the firm’s Outsourcing business, providing management accounting and advisory support to growing Privately Owned Businesses. Lara has developed the Outsourcing team in Poole, where she is a key contributor to the growth of the office working with the Senior Management Team.

Lara has also been instrumental in the development of the service offering across the national Outsourcing business. She has a passion for technology and how this can be applied to save clients time and money as well as providing insights on business performance. She leads the Cloud Solutions Team and is currently developing advisory services in Outsourcing for Mazars’ Privately Owned Business clients.

Rebecca Dacre

Rebecca joined Mazars in Milton Keynes 2014, with a focus on developing the firm’s corporate restructuring offering in the region.

Rebecca has won and led a number of high-profile corporate restructuring engagements, working with staff from across the business to manage large-scale projects. She won “Corporate Restructuring of the Year (Medium)” in 2018 and was a finalist in “Insolvency Practitioner of the Year” and “Corporate Restructuring (Large)” in 2019 at the Turnaround, Restructuring and Insolvency Awards. She will continue to focus on growing Mazars’ corporate restructuring proposition in Milton Keynes and the Midlands, leading strategic business development within the intermediary marketplace.

Leanne Finch

Leanne joined Mazars in 2004 as a graduate. Leanne is a leading member of the Financial Services Audit team in London, with a specific focus on working with insurers. Throughout her career with Mazars, Leanne has made a significant contribution to driving innovation and change throughout the audit practice, and spent more than two years in the firm’s Audit Quality team.

Alan Frost

Alan joined Mazars as a graduate in 2007. With experience in Audit and Transaction Services, Alan currently leads the firm’s Business Consulting team in London. He is also responsible for leading Mazars’ national Change and Transformation team, helping clients navigate a wide range of challenges including Brexit and Covid-19 issues. Alan was recognised by Accountancy Age’s Top 35 Under 35 in 2019.

Phuong Gomard

Phuong joined Mazars in London in 2011. She heads the firm’s Banking Prudential and Risk Management service offering, advising banks on regulatory matters and assisting them in strengthening their risk management framework. Phuong will continue to increase Mazars’ visibility in the financial services regulatory area.  

Ian Goodwin

Ian joined Mazars in Leeds in 2017 and specialises in helping businesses with Employment Tax, IR35, Reward, and, more recently, CJRS matters. Ian is also a published author on Employment Tax and National Minimum Wage.

During his time with Mazars, Ian has focused on enhancing the services offered by the Employment Tax team, while bringing new clients to the firm and growing its reputation in the local and national marketplace. Ian will continue to develop the Employment Tax & Reward strategy, as part of the wider growth of the Specialist Tax Services Mazars offers.  

Xavier Larrieu

Xavier joined Mazars in Paris in 2007, moving to London in 2016. He heads the Quantitative Solutions team, advising banks on credit risk and market risk modelling, and is responsible for developing Machine Learning expertise (Artificial Intelligence) within Mazars.

Nick Nesbitt

Nick joined Mazars as a graduate trainee in 2009 and has worked in the Oxford, Milton Keynes, London and Manchester offices. From his current base in Manchester, Nick has been responsible for growing the firm’s financial planning proposition in the North West. He has led the development of the firm’s healthcare financial planning specialism, which he will continue to grow alongside the firm’s existing Privately Owned Business focus over the coming years.

Zoe Peck

Zoe joined Mazars in July 2012 and now leads the Tax service line for the Privately-Owned Businesses based in London.

Zoe specialises in advising the owners of businesses across a range of sectors with both their personal and business tax strategy and implementation, incorporating much wider and often complex needs both in the UK and internationally.

Natalie Wright

Natalie joined Mazars in 2013 and has been instrumental in growing the firm’s financial planning offering for business owners. Natalie leads Mazars’ Family Business offering, working with teams across the UK to create innovative content, services and propositions.

Natalie is a visible member of the Financial Planning profession, having been awarded the prestigious Chartered Financial Planner of the Year title by the Personal Finance Society (PFS) in 2018/19. She is also a member of the PFS Practitioner Panel and a regular spokesperson in the media.
