Mazars promotes five Partners across UK

1st September 2021
All partners have been promoted from within the business and many have built most or all of their careers at the firm. The new Partners represent teams from Audit, Tax, Advisory and Consulting across the UK, and demonstrate Mazars’ ongoing commitment to nurturing talent throughout the organisation.

The new partners

Gavin Barclay

Gavin joined Mazars as a graduate in 2006 and his expertise lies in working with large and listed industry audit clients, primarily in the automotive, manufacturing and transport sectors. He is based in London, and as a Partner will focus on further establishing the firm’s Public Interest Entity audit business, in line with audit market reform. Gavin will continue to invest significant time coaching and working closely the audit team.

Jon Barnard

Jon joined Mazars in 2005 as a graduate and has worked in the Bristol office for over 16 years. He has played a significant role in developing and growing Mazars’ audit offering to large and listed businesses in the South West and Wales region and will continue to do so in his new role.

Jon will drive Mazars’ vision to become the ‘go to’ destination for large and listed in the region, continuing to deliver high quality work and service to clients.

Michael Pallott

Michael is part of the Advisory & Consulting team in London, specialising in Privately Owned Businesses and Intermediaries. His focus will be on establishing and growing the National Contentious Insolvency Team, with the aim of being recognised in the restructuring market as an expert in dealing with the Covid-19 support measures in insolvency situations; in particular, combatting fraud.

Michael is passionate about enabling greater social mobility through firm and will continue to build an inclusive team by focusing on diverse growth: giving all team members the same opportunity to do what they do best.

Prasam Patel

Prasam joined Mazars in 2014 and is a tax specialist based in London. His expertise lies in the transactions space where he advises his clients on the tax and accounting implications of buying, selling, financing, refinancing or entering into “real assets” projects.

As a Partner, he will continue leading the UK Real Estate business, while also growing a supporting Tax team. Prasam will have a focus on strengthening technical excellence within the team, to ensure Mazars continues to provide clients with commercially viable advice.

Pauline Pelissier

Pauline joined Mazars in 2007 and is a leading member of the Financial Services Audit team in London with a specialised focus on Corporate Investment Banking.

As Partner, she will look to capitalise on new opportunities resulting from audit reform and grow the firm’s client portfolio with larger institutions, in particular investment banks. As part of this, she will be preparing the Banking audit team to undertake larger audit clients with a focus on enhancing audit quality, growing the team, and diversifying the firm’s client portfolio through intermediate targets.

Investing in talent Giving our people the opportunity to develop and grow

In the past year we have launched our ambitious 4-year strategy, emerging from the pandemic with real positivity and momentum. At the heart of this is ensuring we are an inclusive, diverse organisation that’s representative of the society in which we work. That means recruiting and supporting talented people from a wide range of backgrounds, at whatever stage of their career they may be. We are delighted to promote this group of Partners from within the business as we continue to build our next generation of leaders
