Mazars appoints new National Head of Housing

24 April 2019
Mazars, the international accountancy and advisory firm, has appointed Vincent Marke as National Head of Housing, leading a team of over one hundred auditors across eight locations.

Mazars has been working in the sector since 1985 and currently works with over 250 housing clients across England and Wales. The team provides external & internal audit, direct taxation, VAT, and other tax services, as well as due diligence and ad hoc consultancy services.

Vincent’s appointment is reflective of the firm’s investment in the social housing sector and includes a number of other senior appointments to the Firm’s housing leadership team with Matthew Byers being promoted to Director within our Consulting – Risk and Assurance services team.  This comes during a time of strong growth in Mazars’ presence in the sector with a number of significant new clients including a number of the “G15” and other large providers across the country.

Vincent has over 20 years’ experience in the social housing sector, including five years as the Finance Director of a social housing provider. He joined Mazars as a Director in 2016. An auditor by training, Vincent advises a national portfolio of internal and external audit clients, including a number with listed debt. His consultancy experience includes advising on mergers, conversion to charitable status, provision of risk management and governance training to boards and management teams.

Vincent Marke said: “It’s an enormously exciting time to be taking a leadership role in the Housing team. This team is already regarded as one of the leaders in the sector, with an exceptional portfolio of clients, and my role is to build on our reputation for technical expertise, national scale, and unparalleled results for our clients”.

Gareth Davies, Mazars UK Head of Public Services, said: “Vincent’s background, insight to the sector, and ability to build relationships with our clients, makes him the ideal leader for our national team. He has a fantastic team around him, and his direction will help it go from strength to strength”.
