Michael Speight Director - Audit & Assurance

Michael is an Audit director specialising in the audit of Not-for-profit entities including registered charities, universities, colleges, academy trusts and registered housing providers.

Experience 

Michael joined Mazars from a mid-tier firm upon qualification and initially worked with a portfolio of clients across the owner managed business and not-for-profit sectors. Over time his specialism in the not-for-profit sector has deepened and for the past decade has worked almost exclusively in this sector. He now leads our Not For Profit team in the North of England.

As part of providing external audit services to his client base, Michael enjoys helping clients achieve their potential and maximise their success.

Work Highlights 

Michael considers himself to be very privileged to work with successful organisations across the Charity, Education and Housing sectors. In addition to the baseline compliance requirement of an audit, he takes significant satisfaction from helping his clients in areas such as risk management, Board alignment, reserves policy and strategic planning. Working in this manner adds significant value to his clients and assists them in maximising their impact.
