Matthew Day Director - Innovation Incentives

Matt is a Director in the Innovation Incentives team and leads the London and Midlands teams. He provides specialist innovation-based support, enabling his clients to maximise opportunities robustly.

Experience 

Matt has had two distinct, but complementary careers. An R&D Engineer by profession, he worked for nine years in the UK and Germany leading a variety of R&D / engineering projects, before joining a ‘Big 4’ firm in 2008 as an R&D tax relief specialist. Matt works with a range of clients across many different sectors who share his passion and curiosity for all things R&D – in science, engineering, software, or technology. Working with a range of clients of different sizes (SME start-ups through to FTSE 100), he has extensive experience working collaboratively with client technical and finance staff to identify additional opportunities to submit R&D claims.

Work Highlights 

Matt has personally identified, assessed, qualified, quantified and submitted successful claims for more than £2BN of innovation costs for his clients over the past 15 years. This includes experience in multiple sectors, including Financial Services, Pharma, Automotive and Manufacturing.
