Neil Strong Partner - Tax

Neil is a Chartered Accountant, working as part of our Scotland tax team. He leads the UK firm's Capital Allowances special interest group and the tax restructuring service.

Neil focuses on Tax advisory projects for local, national and international businesses.

Experience 

Neil has over 20 years experience (working within Big 4 and smaller accountancy practices), advising entrepreneurial clients, owner managed businesses and listed companies in various sectors.

He has particular expertise in:

- General corporate tax, specialising in the taxation of transactions and structuring i.e. buy-outs, buy-ins, mergers, acquisitions, demergers and disposals.
- Capital Allowances identification and planning.
- Restructuring tax, including MVLs, CVLs, Administrations and pre-packs.

Neil works closely alongside his clients to ensure he is aware of any current or future matters that may affect their taxation position, providing timely pro-active advice to reduce exposure where possible.

Work Highlights 

Neil has advised numerous clients on a variety of matters covering tax planning for some well known household names/individuals to other less well known businesses but with equally complex/challenging requirements. Most recently he assisted a client with tax planning on the disposal of their business for >$100m ensuring tax compliance matters were fully addressed and planning opportunities were optimised.
Neil was the local ICAEW society president for two terms and leads the small practitioners group for Scotland.
