Mazars advises Palatine Private Equity

SMP Partners is an international trust and fund administration services provider, formed out of the management buyout from Fortis Intertrust in 2007. The business is headquartered in the Isle of Man and also delivers services from Europe (Jersey, Switzerland and Malta), Asia (Hong Kong) and America (Cayman Islands and Bahamas).

The deal was structured to allow the next tier management team to invest and lead NewCo, backing them to drive future growth in the business. The investment built on Palatine’s expertise in the financial and professional services sectors and represented their first investment in the trust and fund administration sector.

Why Mazars?

The Mazars Deal Advisory team supported Palatine through the process with a range of buy-side advisory services. We provided a hands-on approach at an early stage, helping Palatine to assess the opportunity and support the investment with sector specific knowledge and expertise. Our buy-side services included an Exit Review to support Palatine’s investment thesis, delivery of an acquisition financing model to be used pre and post transaction and overall process management and support.
