Tackling fraud in the public & social sector
According to the National Fraud Authority (NFA), fraud costs the UK public services an estimated £20.3 billion per year. Against this context, fighting fraud in the public sector is more important than ever.
At Mazars, we are committed to ensuring that public and social sector organisations are fully equipped to manage and prevent fraudulent acts. Mazars’ forensic and investigation specialists have extensive experience in fraud,
bribery and corruption investigations. The team also offers training to in-house teams and assists with other proactive work such as risk profiling, evaluation of internal controls, fraud awareness courses and crime surveys.
With this in mind, our Investigations and Compliance team will be hosting a series of webinars throughout October to raise awareness of this issue amongst public and social sector organisations. The team will be taking a look
at various aspects of fraud management to aid these organisations in ensuring that their funding used appropriately and in putting preventative measures in place to minimise acts of fraud.
