Mazars raises funds at Business Come Dancing Summer Ball

Accounting and outsourcing graduate, Joe, who was partnered with professional dancer, Charlene Crack, spent eight weeks training to perform the bachata, a Latin American dance originating from the Dominican Republic. The competition, which was held at the Bournemouth Pavilion Ballroom, saw 10 couples compete at the June 23 event, with Joe and his partner coming an impressive third place.

Joe Garrett commented: “I was extremely nervous on the day, but when the dance started all nerves were lost and I was very happy with our performance. I feel that thanks to having such a great teacher we were able to produce a much better dance than I had envisioned. I am delighted to have helped raise so much money for the Business Come Dancing Summer Ball charities.”

The Mazars sponsored event helped raise over £4500 in total for two local charities. Lewis-Manning hospice; a Poole based hospice offering free specialist palliative nursing care to the people of Poole, Bournemouth and the surrounding towns and villages living with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses, and Parkinson’s Dance South West, which helps sufferers address the symptoms of the disease using dance, in a fun and challenging, but safe environment. It is currently developing in the UK with around 8-10 classes available across the country, one of which is run at Pavilion Dance.
