A round-up of the latest news across Mazars

Mazars continues its growth trajectory in the UK. In recent months, we’ve strengthened our teams serving our large and listed clients, welcomed Mazars’ Global Head of Sustainability to London and opened our doors to a record number of new graduates, school-leavers and placements across the UK – 330 in total!

Large and listed partner appointments

Natasha Moolman joins our Energy and Infrastructure audit practice, bringing over 20 years of industry experience - most recently from Actis, where she was Managing Director of Group Finance and also from EY where she was Associate Partner. Rachael Hart steps into the newly created position of Forensic Investigations and Compliance Partner to focus on developing financial crime propositions, with emphasis on sanctions. Rachael joins from FTI Consulting where she was Managing Director and also draws upon 19 years’ experience at KPMG. Poppy Proborespati joins our Banking team from EY to focus on Mazars’ client asset practice within Financial Services. Pierre-Paul Jacquet joins the Transaction Services team in London from Mazars Singapore. He will focus on our presence in the listed and large corporate market in the UK, as well as contribute to Mazars’ multi-disciplinary Infrastructure & Energy sector team to provide an enhanced sector due diligence offering.

A commitment to audit quality

The firm continues to prioritise audit quality with focused appointments. Christos Vernardos joins from the Financial Reporting Council, where he was a senior inspector. As an Audit Quality Partner, he will focus on initiatives to improve audit quality, including building a robust system of quality management. Paul Winrow takes position on Mazars’ Audit Quality team to lead the development of our audit methodology and support the firm’s leadership on audit policy. He brings over 26 years’ experience from a range of accounting firms, most recently MHA MacIntyre Hudson. Gregory Derouet joins the audit leadership team in London, bringing significant experience in auditing international and listed industrial and services groups from his role as head of the Industry Management Unit at Mazars in Paris.

Building our ESG and sustainability team

We continue to grow our ESG and sustainability team and are delighted to welcome Chris Fuggle to the UK. Chris, who is Mazars’ Global Head of Sustainability, has located to London from Singapore to build our expertise and further develop our offering to clients in this area.

We are delighted to call a few more listed businesses clients, with recent advisory appointments to Trustpilot (Risk Advisory) and AstraZeneca (Technology Consulting).

Global developments

The merger of BKD and DHG in the US further strengthens our capacity to service international clients through the Mazars North America Alliance with the creation of FORVIS, now ranked the 8th largest accounting firm in the US by FY21 revenue. Both firms are long-time members of the Praxity Alliance.

We continue to actively support our Ukrainian colleagues and have ceased all Mazars activities in Russia, ensuring to the greatest extent possible a seamless and quality transition for our clients and a sustainable path for our Russian partners and staff.
