Mazars awarded five-year PSAA local audit contract in England

Mazars, the international audit, tax and advisory firm, has been awarded the contract to provide audit services for local government, police and fire bodies in England by Public Sector Audit Appointments Ltd (PSAA). The contract period runs for five years, covering the financial years 2023/24 to 2027/28.

Mazars is one of the six external audit firms awarded new contracts by PSAA, and the award has seen the firm grow its share of this market to 22.5% of eligible opted-in bodies against a backdrop of challenging conditions in the local audit market. This proportion has increased from 18% during the previous PSAA contract period demonstrating Mazars’ continued growth and commitment to providing high quality local audit to support the sector.

Mazars’ growth in external audit is complemented by services in internal audit, advisory and tax, providing wraparound services for central and local government, charities, health, education, housing and bodies. With a team of over 200 public services experts across the UK, the team is designed to deliver solutions which build business resilience, create efficient operations and unlock strategic development.
