Stephen Lewis Managing Partner Birmingham - Crisis & Disputes

Stephen is a Chartered Accountant and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. He is an experienced forensic accountant and has been appointed in the context of a wide range of complex dispute resolution, investigation and forensic accounting cases.

Stephen leads Mazars' offering for Forensic and Investigation Services in the financial services sector in the UK. This involves working closely with colleagues in the banking, insurance and asset management teams.

Stephen has been appointed as an accounting expert witness and as an advisor on a broad range of disputes and investigations in the UK and internationally. Stephen’s dispute resolution experience includes loss of profits claims, breach of contract claims, post-acquisition warranty claims and completion accounts disputes, valuation disputes and bilateral treaty disputes.

Stephen is also an experienced fraud and accounting investigator. His investigations experience includes instructions relating to allegations of fraud, accounting irregularities, money laundering, regulatory investigations, asset tracing assignments and forensic audits.

Stephen has given oral testimony in the High Court, Criminal Court and International Arbitration proceedings in the capacity of an independent accounting expert. Stephen also has extensive experience of alternative dispute resolution, including mediation and expert determination.
