Simon Withington Director – IT Internal Audit

Simon is an Associate Director within the Technology and Digital function, and leads the IT Internal Audit service nationally. He has over fourteen years’ experience in delivering technology risk and assurance engagements to clients in the UK and Middle East, with broad experience across the IT control environment and specialist focus on complex finance systems (ERP), cloud computing and data analytics.

Simon works with a range of clients across the commercial private, public and financial services sectors, and is accountable for the end-to-end delivery of IT process, risk and controls assessments, as well as specialist risk-based reviews including cyber, operational resilience and digital transformation assurance.

Prior to joining Mazars Simon spent five years leading the technology internal audit function for a listed global technology business, and eight years working in technology risk and advisory with a Big 4 firm.

Simon focuses on developing technology risk and assurance plans that maximise value to boards and audit committees, aligning these to the strategic agenda while also ensuring key operational risks are being sufficiently managed. Further he has experience of establishing technology risk and control frameworks, and training boards and senior stakeholders on emerging technology risks/trends and three lines of defence
