Neil has 25 years of experience in restructuring and insolvency, having held senior roles at Deloitte and Begbies Traynor prior to joining Mazars. Neil is licensed as an insolvency practitioner by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (ICAEW) and also sits on the ICAEW’s Insolvency Committee. Neil has extensive experience taking appointments and advising lenders, directors and shareholders across a range of industries, with particular expertise in the financial services sector.
Guernsey & New York based hedge fund – liquidator of fund with $24bn assets & liabilities. Undertaking major litigation in US and Guernsey to recover funds.
Steelworks, South Wales – administration & liquidation of a steel works, sale of the steel mill which continues to operate. £100m turnover, 450 staff.
Insurance companies – administrator of Millburn Insurance Co and Exchange Insurance Co, provisional liquidator of 14 Lloyd’s corporate capital companies. Advisory/restructuring work in the US, Australia, Indonesia, Guernsey on both life and property/casualty insurers.
Insurance brokers – advice to regulators and investors in various brokers, administrator of various brokers, including the first broker to fail after the FSA became regulator of brokers & the introduction of CASS rules.
Investment banking – administrator of a group including stockbroking, corporate finance and fund management subsidiaries.
Care homes – adviser to AIB in relation to its lending to a major care home group as part of a group of banks. Administrator & receiver of several care homes. Bank successfully exited
Property – administrator of a large industrial site on Teesside, a series of shopping malls throughout the UK, a marina in Wales and a development site in Central Birmingham.
Airlines – administration of Silverjet, the all-business class airline, advising the board of helicopter operator. Court appointed receiver of a business jet.
