Jo Connolly Partner - Quality and Risk Management

Jo recently joined Mazars as the Group Chief Quality & Compliance Officer. Jo has a demonstrated history of working in the accounting and advisory industry and a strong, recent focus on audit quality, risk management and continuous improvement initiatives.  

Prior to joining Mazars, Jo spent almost 25 years working at KPMG – based primarily in the UK, Australia, Belgium and the US. Starting in Audit with a focus on Financial Services, Jo then moved into Corporate Recovery and Insolvency focusing on operational restructuring.  Jo is  a member of the Australian Institute of Insolvency Practitioners. Jo then moved into Quality & Risk Management to lead a project on harmonisation of risk policies and procedures.  From 2014 – 2016 Jo was the Secretariat to the European Contact Group (ECG) during the EU Audit Reform debate.  For the last 8 years Jo has focused on significant and complex global transformation initiatives specifically related to quality and/or risk management, and most recently led KPMG’s Global project to design, implement and operate the changes to facilitate compliance with new ISQM1, to drive audit quality and consistency, and to identify opportunities to standardise, automate and centralise.

Jo is a Chartered accountant, member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England & Wales (ICAEW).

Jo is a member of Mazars Global Quality & Compliance Board where she has responsibility for driving ISQM1 implementation across its global network along with a suite of quality initiatives.
