Greig Simms

Greig joined Mazars LLP in 2004 and is a qualified Chartered Account and Chartered Tax Adviser. Greig has day-to-day responsibility for the management and organisation of the team, co-ordinating the provision of tax and accounting advice and assurance service to our clients.

Advisory roles to date have incorporated tax structuring, transactional step-plans, buy and sell side due diligences, negotiations with bidding authorities and the provision of tax and accounting opinions for the purposes of bid submissions. He also specialises in dealing with the tax and accounting aspects of financial modelling, ensuring compliance of the financial model with current tax legislation and financial reporting standards. His experience covers a range of sectors including education, waste, health, transportation and retail.

  • University Partnerships Programme Ltd – including advising on projects with the University of Kent, University of Reading and Nottingham Trent University;
  • Campus Living Villages Ltd – advising on projects for the University of Essex;
  • Bouygues (UK) Ltd – advising on projects for the University of Essex and University of Hertfordshire;
  • Sir Robert MacAlpine – advising on projects for York University;
  • UK plc Bank – tax due diligence in relation to an infrastructure project on which the bank was lending;
  • Aviva plc. – tax due diligence for lending on a student accommodation project;
  • Gold Group International – including corporate tax compliance, ad hoc advisory issues, HMRC enquiries;
  • AmeyCespa – providing advisory on student accommodation projects;
  • Nicolas UK – advising sell side on transaction structure and sell side due dliligence for the disposal of Oddbins;
  • Octopus Investments – corporation tax compliance and cross border transaction assistance;
  • Bouygues (UK) Ltd – advising on projects for the University of Essex and University of Hertfordshire;
  • Aviva plc – tax due diligence for lending on a student accommodation project
