Boardroom centre for quoted companies

Mazars’ Boardroom Centre for Quoted Companies forum in association with The London Stock Exchange provides attendees with a platform for the exchange of ideas and experience, as well as offering expert opinions on a wide range of issues affecting businesses. The events take the form of roundtable discussions over dinner and are held under the Chatham House Rule.

Is your board promoting sustainable success effectively?

The proposed new UK Corporate Governance Code emphasises the role of sustainability, corporate culture, diversity and workforce engagement. Boards will need to consider the practical implementation issues arising in these areas, with a focus on: aligning purpose, strategy, culture and capabilities; being realistic when assessing desired v actual cultures; having two-way engagement with your workforce and your investors; remaining innovative whilst managing risks effectively; and building a diverse engaged board that works well as a team.

Agility v strategy? The board’s challenge in uncertain times

It is often said change is the new normal and we are certainly living in both changing and uncertain times brought about by technology, shifting societal norms and attitudes towards business and Brexit. To cope successfully, boards need to have a clear sense of direction whilst at the same time being able to keep options open and acting decisively once the shape of the external environment becomes clear. Agility in the boardroom and in the business is a prized asset in today’s world.
