UK employers often need to conduct the ‘Resident Labour Market Test’ prior to being able to offer a role to a migrant worker from outside the EEA/EU. When carrying out the Test in accordance with the Home Office guidelines and where the salary is below the threshold (£73,900 as it stands at the moment), it is mandatory to advertise the role through the government website - Jobcentre Plus Universal Jobmatch service.
What it means for you
If you have an existing Universal Jobmatch account, all your basic information will automatically be migrated to Find a Job and you will receive an email from the government website with further information.
You will still be able to log in to the Universal Jobmatch website until 17th June 2018, but you will not be able to post any new jobs after 17th May 2018.
You will be able to post new jobs on Find a Job from today, 14 May 2018.
Steps you need to take
If you have any existing job posts on Universal Jobmatch, you have access to them until 17 June 2018. You will need to ensure that you have saved information about all applicants on your local drive and have taken necessary screen shots of the posts. After 18th June all posts will disappear as these will not be migrated to Find a Job website.
When taking screen shots of the posts on Universal Jobmatch, please make sure that all of the below details are clearly shown:
- Logo of the relevant government website
- Contents of the advert
- Vacancy reference number (job ID number)
- Closing date for applications
