IBOR Reform: a discussion

Join us on Thursday 17 October 2019 for a discussion on IBOR reform with a panel of industry experts.

Two years have passed since the IBOR reform was officially launched by Andrew Bailey, Chief Executive of the FCA, which, combined with the European Benchmark Regulation, resulted in massive market change. 'Dear CEO letters' were sent, first by the UK regulators, and more recently by the European Central Bank encouraging institutions to get prepared. Working groups are proposing solutions for the different currencies and products, while consultations are still running.

A panel of experts will be sharing their perspectives on the reform, discussing accounting challenges as well as progress made towards transitions and their expectations for the future.

  • Alastair Hughes (Bank of England) - Reminding the background on IBOR including upcoming challenges and explicating Bank of England PRA expectations on progress of regulated firms.
  • Didier Andries (EFRAG - European Financial Reporting Advisory Group) - Addressing the endorsement process, in particular the content of the EFRAG draft endorsement letter and the process ahead of us.
  • Pauline Pelissier  (Mazars) - Exploring the FS Industry progress status on the reform and what the expected next steps are.
