Meet the panellists

David Prosser has been a financial and business journalist for almost 30 years. He started his career at the Financial Times group, becoming Personal Finance Editor of its flagship publication Investors Chronicle. He went on to work for Guardian Newspapers, Express Newspapers, where he was Personal Finance Editor of the Daily and Sunday Express, and The Independent, where he was Personal Finance Editor and, latterly, Business Editor. 

From 2012, David has been consultant editor and adviser, dividing his time between traditional journalism, writing for a variety of websites, magazines, national newspapers, and thought leadership. His journalism is focused on finance, investment, economics and entrepreneurship. Recent projects, including those related to his association with Board Agenda have considered business transformation, innovation, the ESG challenge and stakeholder engagement.

Dr Hans-Christoph Hirt is an executive director and board member of EOS at Federated Hermes and as head of the organisation responsible for the sustainable success of the business. In this role, he leads a multi-national team based in London and the US and oversees the global engagement programme and the quality of the services EOS provides to its clients around the world.

Prior to joining Hermes EOS, Hans worked with international law firm Ashurst. He is the author of numerous publications on corporate governance and law, responsible investment and stewardship. Hans is a member of the Corporate Governance Advisory Council of the Council of Institutional Investors in Washington and the Advisory Boards of CECP’s Strategic Investor Initiative in New York and the Corporate Governance Centre at the Institute of Directors in London.

Hans is a UK-qualified lawyer, holds degrees in Business Administration from universities in Germany and the UK, the ACCA (accounting and auditing) qualification and a PhD from the London School of Economics (LSE). He continues to be involved in academia as a Teaching Fellow at University College London. 

Shonaid Jemmett-Page, FCA, is an experienced non-executive director in the energy and financial sectors. Shonaid spent the first 20 years of her career at KPMG in London and Tokyo, rising to the position of Partner, Financial Services. In 2001, she moved to Unilever, where she was Senior Vice President, Finance and Information for Asia, based in Singapore, before returning to the UK as Finance Director for Unilever’s global non-food business. In 2009, Shonaid joined CDC Group as Chief Operating Officer, a position she held until 2012.

Since then, Shonaid has focused on non-executive appointments. She has recently been appointed to the board of Aviva plc and is non-executive chairman of two listed investment trusts, Greencoat UK Wind plc, which invests in wind farms and Cordiant Digital Infrastructure Limited. Shonaid is also currently a non-executive director of Caledonia Investments plc, senior independent director at ClearBank Ltd, and a non-executive director of QinetiQ Group plc. Prior non-executive directorships include GKN plc and MSAmlin plc.

Shonaid is also the examiner of an Indian children’s cancer charity and an Association Member of BUPA plc.

Leila is Group Head of Climate Risk at HSBC. She is responsible for enabling the bank’s Risk function to oversee the delivery of HSBC’s climate ambition and regulatory commitments.

Before joining HSBC, she was a partner at Mazars where she held a number of roles including UK Head of Financial Services Consulting, and Lead Partner for the UK climate risk practice.

Leila holds a BSc. in Accounting and Finance and a MSc. in Management and IT from the Paris Dauphine University, and is a Qualified Chartered Accountant with the French Institute of Chartered Accountants.

Maud Gaudry is Global Co-Head of Sustainability Services for Mazars, based in Paris. In June 2020, after a decade spent in the Investment Banking division of Société Générale in Paris and New York in management positions, Maud re-joined Mazars, where she started her career as a financial auditor, to lead its global Sustainability services. Deeply involved in the EU sustainability reporting momentum, she is the project lead for the EFRAG Project Task Force (PTF-NFRS and then PTF-ESRS) on sustainability reporting. She is also involved in a number of sustainability reporting and corporate governance expert groups, at French and European levels.
