Mazars expands into Jersey

Mazars, the international accountancy and advisory group, is expanding into the Channel Islands by merging with successful local practice Moores Rowland Jersey, a former member firm of Moores Rowland International.

Mazars will be known in Jersey as Mazars Channel Islands Ltd. The office will allow Mazars to expand its offering for banking and financial clients into the Channel Islands and broaden the range of services available to an already strong client base in Jersey.

The Jersey team will be led by former Moores Rowland Jersey partners Adam Budworth and Jason Lees-Baker. Rudi Lang will help coordinate activities in the financial services sector.

Commenting on the merger, Adam Budworth said: "Mazars’ integrated model, strong international presence - notably in the financial services sector- and commitment to growth were key factors in the decision to join forces. We look forward to working closely with our new colleagues to grow the business while continuing to provide the highest quality client service."

Rudi Lang commented: "The presence in Jersey is an important step in servicing our clients. We believe the local financial services community will benefit from more competition and expertise in a complex sector."

The deal is the latest announcement in Mazars’ ongoing international expansion strategy. Other recent developments include new offices in Germany, South Africa, India and China.
