Mazars' project finance team expands in response to assurance market growth

International accountancy firm Mazars has strengthened its project finance team following a series of wins in project advisory and financial model audit assignments across Europe. The growth reflects an increasing demand for assurance services from funders and project sponsors in the current economic climate.

Jerome Brice has been promoted to partner and will head up the growing financial model assurance business. Jerome joined Mazars in early 2007 and was previously head of financial modelling at RSM Robson Rhodes.

Stephen Fuller joins from Ernst & Young as a director and will take responsibility for infrastructure tax. Stephen has worked previously for Operis and Andersen. He brings a depth of infrastructure tax expertise across a wide range of sectors including health, education, transport and waste.

Bob Green, head of project finance in London said: "The growth of our team rounds off an extremely successful first year for the team at Mazars. Our ‘fresh approach’ to model audit is making a real difference to the level of assurance gained by our clients at this difficult time. Jerome’s promotion will assist us in meeting the high level of demand for our services and the appointment of Stephen will also allow us to deepen our service offering for both private sector bidders and those who manage operating concessions."
