Key appointment for Mazars’ European project finance team

Mazars, the international accountancy and advisory firm, has appointed Roger Alexander as a senior partner in its European Project Finance team.

Working alongside Bob Green, head of Project Finance for Mazars in the UK, Roger will establish a new office in Belfast, completing the creation of an integrated Project Finance team based around the three major PPP markets of Ireland, the UK and France. The team will draw upon experience and expertise from across Europe to create advisory teams best aligned to each client’s requirements.

Roger joins from RSM Robson Rhodes. He has worked with the Strategic Investment Board in Belfast as a strategic advisor to the UK Government on a range of projects, and was also closely involved in the development of the Investment Strategy for Northern Ireland – a ten-year framework for regeneration expected to be worth £16bn by 2015. He has significant experience in the construction sector and has led a number of PPP projects across the education, justice, health and accommodation sectors.

Commenting on his appointment, Roger said: “Mazars’ integrated partnership means it is in a unique position to serve clients operating across a number of national markets. This is a great opportunity to build up the Project Finance practice in Northern Ireland and work productively with talented teams across Europe.”

Bob Green said: “We are delighted that Roger is joining us. He has built an enviable reputation as an adviser to both the private and public sector based on his knowledge, practical experience and commercial understanding. He will be a great asset to the European team.”
