Tax and the changing insurance landscape seminar

Howard Jones, David Brinan, Carine Beidas and Paul Bradley will discuss how far key direct tax and VAT developments fit in with the changing commercial and regulatory environment of the insurance industry.

We will cover :-

The Finance Bill 2008 changes relevant to life insurance companies and friendly societies, including:

•  What the various provisions of Schedule 17 will mean in practice for your business

•  Transfer of business opportunities for friendly societies

•  Changes relevant to policyholders.

Other tax developments and what else is on the horizon:

•  For life insurance companiesfriendly societies and their policyholders

•  For general insurance companies and the Lloyd's market of what we are still expecting

•  Proposed VAT Directive on Insurance and Financial services

The purpose of this seminar is to review how ongoing tax developments in, including the Finance Bill 2008, case law and further proposals for reform are keeping up with those changes, and how they impact on the business of insurance companies.
