In November 2007, the Specialist Fund Market (SFM) opened its doors to flotations of international and highly specialised investment entities targeting institutional and sophisticated investors. The SFM provides funds and complex financial entities with a new and alternative route to a regulated market. At the same time, it offers the flexibility for quoted investment entities to transfer from the London Stock Exchange's existing Main Market and AIM, as well as cater for transfers from overseas exchanges.
