Business modelling
- Consolidation Model (International Manufacturing Organisation): Designed and implemented a model to quickly and consistently consolidate information from multiple finance systems each with different charts of accounts. This greatly reduced the time required for the consolidation and increased the senior management's confidence in the accuracy of the consolidated figures.
- Resource Planning Model (Membership Organisation): Project to evaluate staffing levels for various levels of activity. This allowed the capacity to be matched to forecast demand ensuring high service levels at optimum cost.
- Rent Forecasting Model (Property company): Developed a model to integrate data from existing systems to forecast rental incomes for a multi-million pound property portfolio.
Management information
- Telecomms Multinational: Developed a comprehensive Management Information system for international operations based around Oracle financials. Reduced the time taken to create a well structured MI while improving the coverage and confidence in the quality of the information.
- Software Company: Over a period of time we worked with this client to build a comprehensive MI system. The financial information was based on Sage, but the project also highlighted important gaps in the information systems. The client then instituted further projects to address these gaps.
- Insurance Company: Designed a full MI system that featured a range of new views of the business, including detailed profitability analysis by business stream, overhead cost allocation and comprehensive analysis of customer performance.
Process analysis and improvement
- Shared Finance Processes (Government Funded Bodies): Project to combine back office functions from various geographic locations, to develop best practice processes for the new operation and to reduce costs and enhance service levels.
- External Reporting Process (Insurance): Identified root causes of the issues with current process and recommended solutions to increase the efficiency of the process for the future.
- Business Process Review (newly acquired business): Worked with the new MD to rapidly develop a structured understanding of key business processes and highlight strengths and weaknesses. Summarised opportunities for change to take the business forward.
