When you start at Mazars, we put together a training plan for your qualification. It’ll provide you with the skills to become a great manager or a commercial expert - whichever you want to be.
Example training programme
If you join our chartered accountancy scheme, for example, your training programme might look like this:
- Year 1 - Getting to know Mazars - Your training starts with a one-week residential course where we introduce you to Mazars. Here, you will meet our senior partners and talk about what you want out of the scheme. You will find out about auditing techniques, client handling, problem solving and how to deal with fraud and money laundering.
- Year 2 - Taking responsibility - By your second year, you’ll be taking responsibility for your own assignments. So we’ll give you tips on how to improve your managerial and business skills.
- Year 3 - Running projects - You should have most of the technical skills you’ll need by now. This is an opportunity to polish them and learn project management techniques at the same time.
Post-qualification - handling clients
We’ll discuss ways for you to manage your brand new client portfolio and we focus on your management and leadership skills.
Managing priorities
On this course we’ll discuss ways to recognise and balance work/life pressures.
Leading people
By this stage you’ll be overseeing new grads yourself, so we’ll discuss leadership style, coaching and dealing with difficult situations.
Finally
At the end of your training, we’ll help you to put together an action plan so you’re clear about where your future lies.
