“The fact that the whole grad year is together is very helpful – if you don’t understand a question or want to talk about college together. It’s a professional qualification, not school. You’ve got to be disciplined to pass but it’s really worth it.” Rebecca Scott, Corporate Governance and Risk
There’s more out there than the Big Four. At Mazars you get the best of both worlds - an excellent graduate scheme full of challenges, with a personal touch. We have an internationally recognised training programme. You will have the support of a wide graduate network, but there are only ever a few new grads in each office at one time. You'll quickly become part of the team and get the attention and feedback that you need.
Our four training schemes
1. Chartered Accountancy training schemes: Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS)
We recruit around 100 people each year to train to become chartered accountants. We’ll support you through your exams, which usually takes three years. You’ll work primarily in audit, but will be exposed to other areas such as tax, assurance and advisory services.
2. Actuarial services trainee scheme
We have places for two people to join our actuarial business. The scheme includes support and study leave to help you qualify as a fellow of the Institute or Faculty of Actuaries. You will be involved in a broad range of assignments including life, general and health insurance, and consulting in pensions and investments. For more information on this particular training scheme, visit Actuarial careers at Mazars.
3. Mazars Financial Planning trainee scheme
We take on five people to join our financial planning business. You'll study for your Financial Planning Certificate (two years) and then go on to gain full financial adviser status in five years with the Advanced Financial Planning Certificate (AFPC). To begin with you’ll work as a ‘financial planning assistant’ supporting one of our financial advisers with their portfolio of private and corporate clients. You could have your own portfolio in five years.
4. Tax training scheme
We’re looking for graduates to join our tax training scheme, starting in 2008. You’ll train to become a member of the Chartered Tax Association and will be fully supported through your exams. You’ll also gain experience supporting our corporate and personal tax clients.
