Mazars Financial Planning Ltd (MFP), Mazars’ specialist wealth management arm, has a vacancy for a Graduate Financial Planning Trainee to join them in our Bristol office in September 2008. MFP is one of the UK’s leading providers of professional, fee-based financial planning – which is very different from product and commission focussed financial services.
As a graduate trainee, you will support the team to provide holistic financial planning advice to private clients, whilst working towards regulated status and Certified and Chartered Financial Planner qualifications.
Your training
Your first six months will be spent learning the company’s administrative and regulatory processes, based in the local office, although you will also be seconded to MFP’s Central Administration office in Edinburgh. The next two years will be spent as an assistant to a qualified Financial Planner, attending client meetings, researching proposed advice and preparing client reports. At the same time, a structured training and examination programme will be agreed for you. Full financial support, exam success incentives, study and training will be provided for all approved qualifications.
Subject to satisfactory assessment and exam success, you should become authorised to provide regulated advice to clients after a period of three to four years. You will start to act as an advisor under supervision and can begin to manage and develop your own portfolio of clients.
While the majority of our graduates are expected to become client-focussed financial planners over time, there are also opportunities to specialise in investment management, research and compliance.
We are looking for someone who can work as part of a team and show leadership potential. You will need to be a good communicator and get on well with people, making an impact from the moment you arrive.
In the first instance please complete an online application form or call the graduate recruitment team on 01582 700 700.
