Conrad Pearson

Conrad is an appointment-taking insolvency practitioner and director in our Northern Restructuring Services team, with over 25 years of experience. Conrad is authorised by the Insolvency Practitioners Association. 

He joined Mazars in 1997, having previously worked in restructuring teams in Manchester since 1991. He has experience leading assignments encompassing a wide range of insolvency appointments and solvent restructuring plans and a deep understanding of both corporate and personal insolvency. In 2007 Conrad undertook a six month secondment to GE Commercial Finance, further broadening his experience and providing him with hands-on knowledge in the asset-based lending sector.

Conrad regularly provides restructuring advice to businesses ranging from small owner-managed businesses to medium-sized companies. His experience allows him to appraise a business’s circumstances, outline the options available to stakeholders and the advantages and disadvantages of each, and then to recommend and implement the most appropriate solution. He has built relationships with accountants, solicitors and financial institutions and regularly provides restructuring guidance to those stakeholders and their clients.

Selected projects:

Administrator of Pallet Manufacturer in North Wales – following a period of marketing, the administrators were appointed and completed a sale of the business, along with goodwill and assets saving the jobs of the employees.

Liquidator of a retail business – with three shops across the North West, where the director had a large personal guarantee liability. Following the closure of the three shops, the Liquidators were able to find a buyer for the fixtures, fittings and stock, maximising the value for creditors and therefore reducing the level of the personal guarantee that the director was liable for.

Trustee of Coach Operator in the North West – securing value for creditors following a sale of the business/assets.

Supervisor of Voluntary Arrangement – appointed by international creditor to realise UK assets and international properties of individuals for the benefit of creditors.

Liquidator for solvent group – restructure for client with multi-dormant companies achieving a reduction of annual costs and a distribution of assets after a thorough clearance process.

Advising local authorities – local authority Insolvency Practitioner advisor for a number of authorities in the North West, assisting them with their recoveries.

Administration/wind down – of a previously listed organic pigment business based in North West and London. Maximising the recovery for all creditors through the completion of the work in progress, sale of business, IP and assets.

Administration of Student Accommodation construction business – assisting with the formal wind down to achieve value for creditors through clean exit from contractual obligations. 

Care homes – assisting with the running of two operations in Wales and the North West whilst buyers were secured to enable recovery for the bank.
