College investigation
Our team undertook an investigation on behalf of an agency of the Department for Education and Skills, following anonymous allegations regarding a college’s financial management and internal controls.
A surprise inspection was necessary during which large quantities of material were taken away for subsequent investigation. Strict compliance with the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 was essential.
After completing detailed investigations and interviews, a report was prepared setting out the conduct of the school’s Principal as well as various breakdowns and omissions in procedures and controls. The report made recommendations on improving future governance at the school.
Our team was commended for the clarity of presentation, both by the Funding Agency for Schools and the local CID, to where the case was subsequently referred.
