Two new partners are latest appointments in wider investment programme.

20/11/2009

Following the appointment of three senior actuaries as partners in September, international accountancy firm Mazars announces the appointment of two further partners to its insurance practice.

Gary Oliver and Jean Claude Lam Hung will be joining Mazars' Governance, Risk and Internal Control (GRIC) team. They bring with them extensive experience in the London Market both having previously undertaken a range of senior roles across the industry.

Gary Oliver has over 15 years experience in the non-life insurance sector, providing internal audit, advisory and regulatory consulting services to Lloyd’s syndicates, brokers, insurance and reinsurance companies. For the last three years Gary was the risk management & compliance director at Ark Syndicate Management Ltd. Prior to this he was head of internal audit at Wellington Plc.

Jean Claude Lam Hung has over ten years of non-life experience, providing internal audit and internal control advisory services to Lloyd’s syndicates, brokers, insurance and reinsurance companies. Most recently Jean Claude led the insurance internal audit practice at BDO Stoy Hayward.

Craig Scarr, senior partner in Mazars’ GRIC insurance team comments: "I am extremely pleased to welcome Gary and Jean Claude aboard. They bring with them expertise that will be of increasing importance in the next few years. Regulation of the insurance industry is changing rapidly, and the addition of two new partners cements our team’s position as a leading provider of internal audit and regulatory consulting services. Their joining also complements the recent appointment of three actuarial partners, which has further strengthened our Solvency II service offering"
