Mazars international trade forum in Milton Keynes
On 5 July Mazars and HSBC held an international trade seminar in Milton Keynes, which considered opportunities for business around the world.
“International trade has become more significant to the success of businesses."
- Stephen Eames, regional managing partner.
Sarah Black, regional international commercial director at HSBC chaired proceedings with a panel of experts which included Stephen Haughey, associate director of HSBC Global Markets, Phil Spencer, international trade director for HSBC Trade and Supply Chain, David Sayers, head of international tax at Mazars and Mark Truby, CFO for BI Worldwide.
At the seminar Mazars revealed that given the current state of European economies, we expect that over the next few years their most significant growth will come in Asia; this is where we are making significant investments and anticipating double digit growth. However, the panel also agreed that British brands remain highly attractive in the global marketplace.
The overall message from the event was “just do it” - great opportunities exist in the international marketplace and should not be ignored. If you have a high quality product or service, there is a market somewhere which suits your business and with the right support you can minimize your mistakes and achieve great success.
