The Green Deal: opportunities and challenges

A panel discussion on how the social housing sector should react to the Green Deal and other incentives.

Date: 26 January 2012, Birmingham

The Green Deal and Energy Company Obligation measures in the Energy Act 2011 are being trumpeted by the Government as its flagship policy to transform the energy efficiency of the UK's buildings, especially its housing stock.  But will the Green Deal be a good deal?  Will it benefit social landlords and their tenants?

Mazars is pleased to announce the organisation of a seminar on this important subject, to take place in Birmingham.  The seminar will feature speakers and Q&A panellists from Affinity Sutton, Sanctuary Housing, Empower Community Management LLP, and Wates Living Space, as well as the seminar hosts - accountancy firm and advisers Mazars, lawyers Trowers & Hamlin, and procurement consultants Stradia.

The seminar will cover the following topics:

  • The Green Deal: key issues arising from the consultation
  • Satisfying the Golden Rule for Green Deal measures: assessing breakeven costs and reliance on ECO
  • Funding sources, financial structures and investor appetite: lessons from the Feed-in Tariffs experience
  • What role should the social housing sector play in the Green Deal?

For more information on the programme and schedule for this seminar, as well as profiles of the various speakers, please see the attached invitation.
