Gary joined Mazars in January 2011 from RSM Tenon where he worked for 4 years, and previously Deloitte for 4 years, specialising in all matters of handling HM Revenue & Customs on client matters including investigations, enquiries and disputes. During that time he provided full litigation and Tribunal support and, particularly, disclosures, onshore and offshore, dealt with on favourable terms many times. Gary’s clients have covered the full HM Revenue & Customs spectrum from high net worth individuals through to some of the largest multi national corporations. Prior to joining the profession, Gary was a senior investigating Inspector of Taxes in HM Revenue & Customs for 16 years. In addition to supporting clients through HM Revenue & Customs investigations, Gary has particular experience in supporting clients to assess and understand their “tax compliance risk”, navigating the HM Revenue & Customs’ risk based assessment of large companies and high net worth individuals. Gary has assisted client achieve a "low risk" category with HM Revenue & Customs by a combination of skilled negotiation and indentifying and undertaking specific remedial action carried out using HM Revenue & Customs methodologies.
